Flooring, staircases and fireplaces
in Jacksonville and Northeast Florida

Designed from the ground up.

Floors set the tone for everything above them. We install hardwood, luxury vinyl, porcelain and natural stone with the same care we bring to a full remodel, and we carry that craft to staircases, fireplace surrounds and the rooms in between. The result is a home that feels considered from the ground up.

Designed with you.

Built without compromise.

Materials, compared.

Hardwood, rigid core luxury vinyl, porcelain and stone are compared side by side in your free in-home consultation, so every floor suits how the room is used.

Staircases, renewed.

New treads, risers, railings and balusters turn a dated staircase into the centerpiece of the entry.

Fireplaces, refined.

Tile, stone and linear fireplace walls give a living room a quiet, lasting focal point.

Project · Open kitchen and living

One floor, end to end.

Gridded tile in the kitchen and a different floor in the living room gave way to one continuous run of wide-plank, wood-look flooring that carries from the breakfast nook through the kitchen and into the family room. With white cabinetry, black quartz and soft green tile above it, the whole space now reads as a single, open room.

Project · Vaulted kitchen and great room

Lighter underfoot, lighter overall.

Dark cherry hardwood gave way to wide-plank white oak that runs from the kitchen into the great room, and busy granite was replaced with calm white quartz. Under the original beams and arched windows, the paler floor lets the light carry across the whole space.

Project · Built-in fireplace wall

A wall built around the fire.

A recessed niche with floating shelves and a hanging cabinet became a fully built-in media wall: a long linear fireplace set low, lit display niches on either side, and a recessed shelf that hides the soundbar, all finished flush in smooth white.

Project · Great room staircase

Opened up, from the first step to the loft.

Solid half walls with cutouts and a thin wall rail gave way to stained box newels, black iron balusters and an open railing that carries all the way across the loft, with new wood-look tile running through the great room below.

Project · Entry staircase

A first impression, rebuilt.

Worn treads, a dated oak rail and painted wood spindles were replaced with white oak treads over crisp white risers, square oak newels and slim black iron balusters, framed by new flooring that runs straight to the front door.

What we build

Floors, stairs, fireplaces and the rooms in between.

Planning a larger project? See our additions and remodels.

Hardwood and engineered wood, rigid core luxury vinyl, and porcelain and natural stone tile, installed over properly prepared subfloors. Staircase renovations with new treads, risers and railings. Fireplace surrounds, mantels and linear fireplace walls. Closets, mudrooms and laundry rooms, finished with the same attention as the rest of the home. Pair new floors with a kitchen or a bathroom remodel, and every surface is planned together.

Watch

Luxury vinyl plank, installed right.

Rigid core luxury vinyl plank gives you the warmth of wood with a waterproof, scratch-resistant wear layer, a smart choice for kitchens, laundry rooms and busy family spaces in Florida humidity. The difference is in the prep: a flat, clean subfloor, staggered seams and finished transitions at every doorway.

How we work

Designed, selected, built.

It begins with a free in-home consultation, where we look at your space, how you use it and what you want it to feel like. Our designers develop the layout and help you select flooring, tile and finishes, and once everything is approved, we handle ordering, scheduling and construction through final inspection.

Greystone is a licensed Florida general contractor. Design and construction are handled under one roof.

Questions

A few things worth knowing.

Which flooring is right for my home?

It depends on how each room is used. Rigid core luxury vinyl stands up to water and pets, porcelain is dense and long-wearing, and hardwood brings a warmth that deepens with age. We will help you compare them in your consultation.

Can you update my staircase without replacing it?

Often, yes. Many staircases can be renewed with new treads, risers, railings and balusters while the structure stays in place.

Do you build fireplace surrounds?

Yes. We design and build tile and stone surrounds, mantels and linear fireplace walls, often as part of a larger flooring project.

What does new flooring cost?

Every project is unique, and pricing depends on the area, the material and the preparation the subfloor needs. Your consultation is where we put that together.

Is financing available?

Yes. You can read about our remodel financing options, or ask during your consultation.

How long does a flooring project take?

Timing depends on the area, the material and the preparation the subfloor needs. Once all scopes for your project are confirmed, your designer or project manager will walk you through your schedule, depending on the complexity of the project.

How long has Greystone Kitchens been in business?
